Khun Chatchai Jaratsangpet - Staff of agriculture section
Khun Chatchai arrived as a resident at the original site of the Bahn Ruam Jai project in 1984! He was 15 years old and he faced severe challenges as he lacked support from his home community. But, with much needed help from Bahn Ruam Jai, this young man was up to the task! He traveled long distances by bicycle between the project, night school, and his job. By washing clothes and working in a restaurant, among other things, he managed his difficult situation.
Khun Chatchai graduated then went to work with the home for Needy Tribal Indigenous Students which is run by a Christian Charity Foundation. He acted as house parent and care taken for 2 years. He then worked with an organic agricultural company. At that time, he spent his weekend and vacations helping BRJ by working on the farm as a part time unpaid volunteer. He returned in 1990 as full time staff of BRJ and has rendered steady and valuable service ever since.
Khun Chatchai and his family (his wife and two sons) stay at BRJ. They have a private staff quarters.
