Sineenart was living with her divorced mother who was the sole family caretaker in the isolated Hmong community of Mae Sa Mai.
Khun Seewigaa had worked professionally as a government teacher in the remote mountainous area where most Indigenous people are located.
BRJ sees its role as much broader than caring for the children who reside there. It seeks to promote the rights of Indigenous children in the wider community. The Project is part of a network of organizations that work together in relation to child rights and is also a member of the Youth Court in Chiang Mai.
