After 6 years she resigned from this position. She used to work with Thai – Australia Economic and Social Development Upland Project. After this project was over she worked with different Tribal Indigenous Development Organizations.

With her knowledge of and experiences in the field of Tribal Indigenous Development she deeply believes and recognizes that education is an important key for human development. She, along with four close friends who shared the idea joined hands to establish the Bahn Ruam Jai Project since 1984.

Although Khun Seewigaa holds relevant degrees such as a Diploma of Education, a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Social Sciences as well as a Master of Arts in Informal Education and key qualifications for the position of Director at Bahn Ruam Jai, it is her genuine and unequivocal love and concern for the residents of the project that define her work.

Her roles include being in charge of the administration, organization and implementation of various aspects of the project. She must coordinate issues both internally and externally for the project as well as produce documentation in both Thai and English.  Aside from her demanding duties at BRJ Khun Seewigaa has selflessly donate her efforts towards human rights promotion and vital fundraising efforts. She along with the children are always very grateful for your support.

Moreover, she serves as trainer to the staff and youth/students of Bahn Ruam Jai on the issues of education and social science.

Whenever there is/are the absence of other staff, she works on many other matter, such as cooking, cleaning and looking after the children/youth.

The positive affect she has had on the more than 1600 children/youth who have called Bahn Ruam Jai home since 1984, is immeasurable. Her continued dedication over 35 years to ensuring children receive the care, education and skills to provide them with the best possible opportunities in life, leads some who know her to refer to her as ‘the Mother Theresa of Thailand’!
